The More Loving One

The More Loving One

Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.

How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.

Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.

Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

Wake Up

Something filled up
My heart with nothing
Someone told me not to cry
But now that I'm older
My heart's colder
And I can see that it's a lie
Children, wake up
Hold your mistake up
Before they turn the summer into dust
If the children don't grow up
Our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up
We're just a million little gods causing rainstorms
Turning every good thing to rust
I guess we'll just have to adjust
...

This song helps me accept that some things in life just don't go the way you expected.

Pleasantly Surprised PART: 2

The following are photos I took at the LA Arboretum.
Not much to say other than that the I had a wonderful time taking in the beauty of it all.

After spending these few days going on random solo adventures, I was able to really think about the endless shit that goes through my head and unwind. The experience was not only relaxing but overall, quite fantastic. I never thought my love for my hometown could be challenged until now.

Arcadia, you will have a soft spot in my heart forever.

You definitely were a
pleasant surprise...

Christle

Pleasantly Surprised PART: 1

So I spent a few days a week for the past three weeks in the city of Arcadia as well as the neighboring cities.

Myrtle Street in Monrovia is beautiful. Reminded me of Main Street in Seal Beach. Cute and quaint. Myrtle street is also home to the public library and this awesome Mark Twain statue.

The neighborhoods in Arcadia are very overwhelming. Fancy, intricate yards with HUGE, beautiful houses. There is an old town feeling about driving past them which I liked. It was hard to stay focused on the road when everything you see is gorgeous.

I ended up venturing over to Santa Anita Mall to see what the fuss was all about. Everyone always talks about it. It turned out to be just a regular mall with a parking lot that was confusing as hell. I spent a good two hours in a Borders and got lost reading Astrology books. Don't judge me! It's fun. It is kind of freaky how it is so accurate sometimes.

There was a little street that was heaven for a thrift-er like myself. I started one morning off in a Goodwill. I found a few good things, but my best buy was a Missy Higgins cd and a vintage NIKE bag. On the same street, there was a whole row of thrift stores. Mini mom and pop ones even. I was able to score a vintage Etienne Aigner leather burgundy bag for $5! Yes, $5! One store even had a "stuff-all-you-can-in-a-basket-for-$5" sale. I had a field day with that. The 'lil old ladies that worked there were the sweetest.

On one of the days, I walked into some random laundromat and took photos. The owner was concerned at my clicking away at first, but after I told him I was just enjoying his laundromat, he became all sweet. He even wished me luck as I left the place. Everyone is so nice =]

Off to PART 2...

Let's get SEXY

Today, I had an opportunity to work with the wonderful photographer MarieSam Sanchez and 5 lovely ladies on a boudoir photo shoot.

All the ladies were dolls to work with. Nothing makes me happier than seeing transformations of normal, sweet gals to VAVAVOOM sexy kittens. Rawr.

So with that, I will leave you with a picture of the woman I think defines 'BOUDOIR' in my eyes. The one gal that convinced me that big, luscious hair will never be out of style.

xoxo, christle

Mirror

For most of November, I will be working on a few self portraits to turn in a contest before the year ends. This is very challenging. I hope I can get through it.

Phantom of the Opera

Had a wonderful mother/daughter(s) day in LA. After growing up listening to Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, watching the real thing for the first time was a grand experience. I will admit that the movie is just much more sexy. If you know me well enough, I like things sexy. Too sexy even.

Hey BABY

The past month, the majority of artwork I've been trying to make has not been going well. I just keep messing up. However, I was able to print these despite way too many errors and re-dos that came with it.

Fader

I seriously cannot get over how great this song is :]

In other news, I did a shoot with a sweet model named Amy. I found out she was one of Matthew's (Shear Genius) finale models.
Here is a little preview:

One fish, two fish...

My 2010 shoe/feet potraits are coming along nicely. I hope to get them all finished by the end of the year. I was aiming for 100 photos at first, but since it's almost the end of the year...at least 50 shoe stories! At least! o_O

Why do I do this to myself?!

OBEY

Ventured over to Echo Park to check out Shepard Fairey's Printed Matters show which featured his newest silk screen work .

One thing I love about Fairey being an artist is that he can juggle a family life and world domination. Not many people can do such a thing and still be firmly planted on the ground. Quite impressive.

Are the Dog Days Really Over?

I'm slowly starting to book shoots again after a LONG haitus.
More than 2 years to be exact. Lots of shit has happened since then, and I'm trying to move past that now.

This time around, I will be smarter and pickier on people I decide to collaborate with. More legit photographers who keep their promises and hopefully agency represented models. Most important, I want pictures that I actually would put in my portfolio.

I'm getting restless.
These hands are getting rusty and need to be used!

It's time to get dirRrty.

Memories Taste Like Honey

After so many years and a few major moves here and there, my mom managed to keep a few projects my siblings and I made throughout our childhood. Sadly, most got thrown away or destroyed. Looking over what is left now, it brings feelings of nostalgia and memories I have not thought about for a long time until recently when I found my box of random "stuff"...

Goodies when I was 10 or younger.

Construction Mondrian circa 1996.

My 5-year-old plastered hand.

Thank you MOM for teaching me
how to cut and color inside (and outside) the lines =)

Visually Stunning

I didn't know Cee Lo did a cover of "No One's Gonna Love You".
Lo and behold, I found a video done with his beautiful version of the song and all I can say is: WOW. The cinematography is FREAKIN' AMAZING.
